The Public Joint Stock Company Grindeks has decided that in the near future it will commence work on the establishment of a Baltic pharmaceutical company. In order to compete successfully in global markets, Baltic pharmaceutical manufacturers must be united, therefore Grindeks is seriously considering co-operation opportunities with other pharmaceutical companies.
The first steps towards establishing co-operation among pharmaceutical companies in the Baltic States were taken back in 1998, when Grindeks acquired a majority shareholding in the Tallinn Pharmaceutical Plant. Negotiations regarding co-operation and possible co-operation in the holding company have already also been commenced with the pharmaceutical manufacturer, Kalceks.
The establishment of the holding company will help to optimise costs and simplify administration, thereby providing for greater opportunities to invest in the development of pharmaceutical plants with the greatest potential. The rapid processes of globalisation and specialisation are today taking place all over the world and Grindeks is no exception.
